Despacito was a track from the year 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It became the top streamed track in the world within six months. In 2017, the song Despacito, which combines pop music with reggaeton has not just brought fresh attention to reggaeton music but also sparked interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 compared with two for 2015. In the midst of Despacito's fame in the year 2017 there were 19 mostly Spanish tracks which made it into the top 100. In 2020, the number was 41. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) famous artists soon began collaborating with reggaeton artists, including Drake and Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna with Maluma in Medellin (2019).
