Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. [7][8] Born and raised in the suburbs of Barcelona, she was described as an "atypical pop singer" because of her genre-bending music styles. When she was of thirteen, she fell in an obsession with Spanish folk music, and she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She was also a guest at weddings and music bars. Combining flamenco, hip hop and pop the album produced "Malamente" (single) as well as "Pienso in tu Mira" (single). Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born into an unartistic family and is the eldest child of Pilar Tobella who runs a small business in the family that specialises in metalworking. Jose Manuel Vila was her father. He was born in Cudillero (Asturias). The couple divorced in the year 2019. The actress has an older sibling, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) who is working alongside Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia was interested in the performing arts when she was a young girl, particularly after she discovered the discography of Camaron de la Isla. In the Taller de Musics, she began her music education. She completed a 6 year program at the academy. She first began classes at the Raval school, later transfering to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia.
